Lip Filler in Alpharetta

Shape first, volume second. Most patients who dislike their lip filler got too much of the second and not enough of the first. We treat the border, the shape and the balance between upper and lower lip, and add only as much volume as your face actually supports.

  • Definition, shape and symmetry, with volume kept to what your face genuinely supports.
  • Hyaluronic acid filler is reversible, so nothing about the decision is permanent.
  • Results visible immediately and settled within about two weeks, once swelling resolves.
  • Thin or flat lips
  • Asymmetry between left and right
  • An undefined lip border
  • A lower lip heavier than the upper
  • Vertical lip lines
  • Corners that turn down
  • Loss of lip volume with age
  • A gummy smile
  • Adults wanting definition or a modest increase in fullness
  • Anyone bothered by asymmetry or a lost lip border
  • Patients comfortable with swelling for several days afterwards
  • Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active cold sore or with certain autoimmune conditions

No single filler suits every area, so we keep several families in the practice. The choice depends on how deep the product sits, how much the area moves and how much lift you need. These are the ones we reach for most often, not the full range available to you.

  • Restylane-L. A smooth hyaluronic acid gel carrying lidocaine, used for lips and nasolabial folds. The anaesthetic is mixed in, which makes the injection more comfortable.
  • Restylane Lyft. A firmer gel built to hold structure. It suits cheeks and midface volume, where the product has to lift rather than simply fill.
  • Restylane Defyne. A flexible gel made for areas that move, such as deep laugh lines and the chin, so your expression still reads as your own.
  • JuvĂ©derm Voluma XC. A high lift filler for cheek and midface volume, with results that can last up to two years in the cheeks.
  • RHA Redensity. Formulated for dynamic areas, most often the fine lines around the mouth, where a stiffer product would look placed rather than natural.
  • Revanesse. A smooth, versatile gel we reach for on nasolabial folds and general contour work.

If the right product for you sits outside this list, we can bring it in. Your injector will talk it through at your consultation.

What Lip Filler Is and How It Works

LIP FILLER IS A HYALURONIC ACID GEL PLACED IN SPECIFIC PLANES OF THE LIP. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar your body already produces to hold water and give tissue its cushion, so the product integrates rather than sitting as a foreign lump, and it can be dissolved if you ever change your mind.

Where it goes matters far more than how much goes in. Product along the vermilion border sharpens definition. Product in the body of the lip adds fullness. A small amount at the corners lifts a downturned mouth. Each of those is a different decision, and treating them as one decision called more filler is exactly how lips end up looking done.

Good lip work is also proportional. The lower lip generally carries slightly more volume than the upper, and lips that outgrow the surrounding face read as obviously treated no matter how skillfully the product was placed. Your provider assesses your whole lower face before touching a syringe, and if the honest answer is that half a syringe gets you where you want to be, that is what we will use.

Numbing goes on the lips first, and we let it work.
Your injector explains how a filler plan is built. Turn the sound on.

Is Lip Filler right for you?

Most healthy adults are good candidates. Here is what we typically look for, and what we would discuss with you before recommending treatment.

If your lips have shape but a blurred border, a small amount along the vermilion sharpens the outline and changes very little else.
Most people have one side fuller than the other. Correcting that often makes more difference than adding volume anywhere.
A small amount of support at the corners lifts a mouth that has begun to turn down at rest.
Fine vertical lines soften with a small amount placed shallow, often alongside treatment of the lip itself.
Fullness can absolutely be built, but we do it across two or three visits rather than one, so the tissue stretches gradually.
Lips lose volume and the border softens over time. Restoring both reads as looking rested rather than looking treated.
Say so, and we will use half a syringe. We would far rather you come back for more than feel you overshot.
If you have had filler elsewhere that you dislike, it can be dissolved and rebuilt. We usually wait two weeks between the two.

Lip Filler vs. Lip Flip

These are completely different treatments that patients regularly confuse. Filler adds volume with a hyaluronic acid gel. A lip flip uses a few units of neurotoxin to relax the muscle so the upper lip rolls slightly outward. One adds tissue, the other changes how existing tissue sits.

They combine well. A lip flip with a small amount of filler often gives a better result than filler alone, particularly for a gummy smile or a very short upper lip. Your provider will tell you which one your concern actually calls for.

What to Expect: Before, During and After

A lip filler appointment at GENEVA takes about 45 minutes including numbing. Here is the process from preparation through to maintenance.

  1. 1

    Preparation (before your visit)

Avoid alcohol for 24 hours and blood thinning supplements such as ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil and vitamin E for 3 to 5 days, since all of them increase bruising. Tell us about any cold sore history, because lip treatment can trigger an outbreak and we will prescribe antivirals.

  2. 2

    Consultation and lip mapping

Your provider looks at your whole lower face, not just your lips, and discusses what you actually want. We will show you where product would go and be honest about how much is appropriate.

  3. 3

    Numbing (about 20 minutes)

Strong topical numbing is applied and left to work. Our fillers also contain lidocaine. Lips are the most sensitive area we treat, so we do not rush this.

  1. 4

The treatment (15 to 20 minutes)

We book a full hour so none of this is rushed. Product is placed with a needle or a blunt cannula depending on the plan, working in small increments and checking symmetry throughout, with time to sit you up and look together before we add anything more.

  2. 5

    Immediately after

Expect meaningful swelling for two to three days, and lips can look larger and less even than the final result during that time. Ice regularly, sleep with your head elevated, skip exercise for 24 hours and avoid heat. Before you leave, our physician checks in on you and reviews the result.

  3. 6

    Your two week follow up

Swelling resolves over the first week and the true shape appears by about day fourteen. We book this review for every patient and refine then if anything needs balancing.

Lip Filler Cost in Alpharetta

Lip filler is priced per syringe. Most patients need one syringe or less, and a first treatment is very often half a syringe.

Lip Filler

$650 / syringe

Take $100 off your first syringe as a new patient. Members save 10% to 15% depending on tier on every visit. Half syringe treatment is available and is genuinely the right call for many first timers.

More syringes is not a better result. We would rather build gradually across two visits than overfill in one, and we will tell you when you have had enough.

Treatment Frequency

How Often and Why

1Ă—

Start conservatively

A half or full syringe placed well tells us how your lips hold product and how much change you actually want. Adding at a second visit is easy. Removing is a separate procedure.

6 to 12 mo

Ongoing maintenance

Lips metabolise filler faster than most areas because they move constantly and have a rich blood supply. Topping up before the shape fully disappears keeps the result consistent.

Long term

Less over time

Many long term patients find they need less product per visit once the shape is established, because each treatment builds on a base that has not fully resolved.

Combine Treatments

Your Journey, Continued

Lip filler shapes and defines. These treatments address the muscle, the surrounding skin and the wider face for a more balanced result.

Skin Rejuvenation & Anti-Aging at Geneva Exosome Therapy in Alpharetta

Most patients need one syringe or less, and a great many first timers are best served by half. If someone quotes you two syringes for a first lip treatment, ask why. Building gradually across visits produces better looking results than filling in one sitting.

Not if the plan is proportional. Overfilled lips come from adding volume without regard to the rest of the face, or from repeatedly topping up before the previous treatment has settled. We assess your whole lower face first and will tell you when you have had enough.

Meaningful swelling for two to three days, and lips often look larger and less even than the final result during that window. That is normal. Do not judge your lips before day seven and do not book anything social for the first few days.

6 to 12 months. Lips metabolize product faster than areas like the jawline because they move constantly and have a rich blood supply. Your second treatment often lasts longer than your first.

Lips are the most sensitive area we treat, so we use strong topical numbing and our fillers contain lidocaine. Most patients describe pressure and a brief sting rather than genuine pain.

Filler adds volume with a gel. A lip flip uses a few units of neurotoxin to relax the muscle so the upper lip rolls outward, adding no volume at all. A flip is subtle, cheaper and shorter lived. They combine well.

Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler is dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, usually within a day or two of treatment. That reversibility is a large part of why we use it.

Not at the volumes we work with. The concern comes from repeated large volume treatment over many years. Conservative, proportional treatment does not produce that outcome.

Yes, but tell us beforehand. Injecting the lip can trigger an outbreak, so we prescribe antiviral prophylaxis to take before your appointment.

Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and settle within days. Lumps that need massage are uncommon. The serious risk is vascular occlusion, where product enters a blood vessel, which is rare and is precisely why technique, anatomical knowledge and having dissolving agent on hand matter.

Immediately, though skip intense exercise for 24 hours and avoid saunas and hot yoga for 48 hours. Plan social events for a week or so after, once the swelling has fully resolved.

GENEVA offers physician directed lip filler in Alpharetta, one mile from Avalon, serving Johns Creek, Roswell, Milton and the surrounding areas.
