  • A purified formula. Xeomin is filtered down to the active molecule alone, with none of the accessory proteins the other neuromodulators carry.
  • Because there is less for the body to recognize, Xeomin is the option we reach for when someone tells us their injections have stopped holding the way they used to.
  • Dosing is close to one to one with Botox, so if you already know your unit count you can compare treatment costs directly rather than guessing.
  • Quick treatment with minimal downtime, and results that typically hold for three to four months.
  • Adults bothered by frown lines between the brows, the area Xeomin is FDA approved to treat cosmetically
  • Patients who have noticed their previous neuromodulator wearing off faster than it once did
  • Anyone who wants expression lines softened while keeping their face moving the way it should
  • Your provider will review your health history, medications, prior injectable treatments, facial anatomy, and goals to determine whether Xeomin is appropriate for you
  • Frown lines between the brows
  • Forehead lines
  • Crow's feet
  • Bunny lines
  • Chin dimpling
  • Lip shape and lip flip
  • Brow position
  • Lower face muscle definition

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and Daxxify are the four neuromodulators we inject. All four relax the same muscles. The differences that matter are how quickly each one appears, how long it holds, how far it travels from the injection point, and how its units are counted.

  • Xeomin. Filtered down to the active molecule alone, with none of the accessory proteins the others carry. It matters most for the small number of patients whose injections stop holding over time.
  • Botox. The most studied of the four, and the one most people mean when they say the word. It holds close to where it is placed, which is what you want between the brows and around the eyes. Results usually appear in three to five days and hold about three to four months.
  • Dysport. The fastest to appear, usually in two to three days, and it spreads a little further from the injection point. That suits the forehead and other broad, flat areas, and results can hold up to five months.
  • Daxxify. The longest lasting of the four. Median results run about six months, and some patients hold longer. It is stabilised with a peptide rather than human albumin, and its units are not interchangeable with any of the others.

What Xeomin Is and How It Works

A GENEVA Med provider injects Botox into a reclined patient forehead lines

XEOMIN IS AN FDA-APPROVED INJECTABLE THAT TEMPORARILY REDUCES THE MUSCLE ACTIVITY BEHIND MODERATE TO SEVERE FROWN LINES. Xeomin works beneath the skin by quieting targeted facial muscles. As those muscles relax, the lines carved by years of frowning, squinting, and raising the brows have less to form against and can appear smoother.

What separates Xeomin from the other neuromodulators is what is not in it. Botox and Dysport both carry accessory proteins alongside the active molecule. Xeomin is filtered down to that molecule alone, which is why it is often called naked Botox. For most patients this changes nothing about the result. For the smaller group whose injections have started wearing off sooner than they used to, it can be the difference that brings the response back.

At GENEVA Med your provider reads your facial anatomy, your muscle movement, and your history with previous injectables before choosing injection points and dosing. Xeomin works on lines made by movement. Lines that stay visible when your face is at rest usually involve volume or skin quality as well, and those are answered with other treatments alongside it.

Topical numbing goes on first, and we let it work.
Your provider walks you through how dosing is planned. Turn the sound on.

Personal Attention

Providers who listen, understand your goals, and personalize your treatment plan.

Is Xeomin right for you?

Xeomin may suit adults who want expression lines softened without losing the way their face moves, and it is the first thing we consider for anyone whose previous injectable has begun wearing off faster. Your provider evaluates your facial anatomy, muscle activity, treatment history, and goals before recommending it.

The vertical lines between your brows are made by the muscle underneath, not by the skin on top. Xeomin quiets that muscle so the line has less to form against. Moderate to severe glabellar lines in adults are the cosmetic use Xeomin is FDA approved to treat.
Xeomin may be used cosmetically across the forehead to soften the horizontal lines left by raising the brows. Your provider evaluates how strongly the forehead lifts and how much movement you want to keep before determining whether treatment fits your goals.
Some adults begin treating when expression lines are becoming noticeable rather than waiting until they are set. There is no universal age to start, so the decision should follow your facial movement, your concerns, and your goals rather than a birthday.
Xeomin may also be used cosmetically to soften muscle-related concerns around the nose and chin, including bunny lines and the pebbled texture of chin dimpling. Your provider will determine whether these areas are appropriate based on your facial anatomy and goals.
Some patients notice their neuromodulator wearing off sooner than it once did, or not settling the way it used to. Because Xeomin carries none of the accessory proteins the other products contain, there is less for the immune system to recognize. Your provider will review your treatment history to determine whether switching is appropriate for you.
The fan of lines at the outer corner of the eye comes from the muscle that closes it. Xeomin may be used cosmetically here in appropriate patients, dosed so the lines soften while your smile still reaches your eyes.
A small amount of product around the upper lip relaxes targeted muscles and subtly increases how much lip shows when you smile, without adding filler volume. Your provider will determine whether this area is appropriate for you.
Relaxing the muscles that pull the brow down lets the ones that lift it win. The result is a few millimetres of lift through the tail of the brow, with no surgery and no incision.

Xeomin vs. Botox

Xeomin and Botox are both injectable neuromodulators that temporarily soften expression lines by reducing targeted muscle activity. The difference is in the formulation. Botox arrives with accessory proteins around the active molecule, and Xeomin arrives without them. Their dosing runs closely in parallel, so unit counts translate between the two far more directly than they do with Dysport.

Xeomin and Botox units are dosed closely enough that a unit count from one is a workable starting point for the other, which is not true of Dysport. Your provider will confirm the recommended dose and the total price before treatment begins.

What to Expect

We book 30 to 45 minutes for a cosmetic Xeomin appointment, though the injecting itself takes 15 to 20 minutes. Here is what to expect, from consultation and facial mapping through treatment, results and your two week follow up.

  1. 1

    Preparation (before your visit)

Tell your provider about medications, supplements, and relevant health conditions, and be specific about any previous neuromodulator treatments and how well they held. That history is what shapes a Xeomin plan. Follow any preparation instructions from GENEVA and arrive with clean skin when possible.

  2. 2

    Consultation and mapping

Your provider evaluates your facial anatomy, muscle movement, expression lines, and goals before setting the injection points and the number of Xeomin units appropriate for your treatment.

  3. 3

The treatment (15 to 20 minutes)

We book 30 to 45 minutes so none of this is rushed. The injecting itself takes 15 to 20 minutes. The rest is time to watch how your face actually moves, agree the plan with you, and check as we go, because dose decisions are the easiest thing to get wrong at speed. Xeomin is injected into targeted muscles using a fine needle. Most treatments involve several small injections based on the areas being treated and your individualized dosing plan.

  1. 4

    Immediately after

Xeomin requires minimal downtime, and most patients return to their normal routine after the appointment. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising can occur around injection sites. Follow your GENEVA provider's specific aftercare instructions. Before you leave, our physician checks in on you and reviews the result.

  2. 5

Results develop (days 3 to 14)

You may begin noticing changes within the first few days, with the appearance continuing to develop as the treatment takes effect. The full effect is usually settled by day fourteen.

  3. 6

    Your two week follow up

We book a two week review for every patient. Your provider checks how the treatment settled and adjusts anything that needs it. Xeomin results are temporary and typically hold for 3 to 4 months, with treatments spaced at least 90 days apart. We set your maintenance interval at that visit.

Xeomin Cost in Alpharetta

You pay per unit. We do not price by area, so a light forehead treatment costs less than a heavy one, and you are never charged for product you did not need. The ranges below are where most patients land. Final unit counts are set in the room, after your provider has watched how your face actually moves.

Xeomin Standard Rate

$11 / unit

New patients start at $9 per unit. Members save 10% to 15% depending on tier on every visit. Treating the upper face as one unit, forehead, frown lines and crow's feet together, a first visit usually falls between 40 and 60 units.

How many units you need depends on how strong the muscle is and how much movement you want to keep. Two people with the same lines often need very different dosing. Your injector works from the same chart as your physician, so the count is set against your history, not just the lines on your face.

Treatment Frequency

Finding Your Rhythm

Your first round

Enough to learn how your muscles answer Xeomin, before anyone commits you to a longer plan.

3 to 4 mo

Ongoing maintenance

We book your next visit off returning movement, not returning lines. Treating at that earlier point holds results steadier, and for most patients the gap between visits lengthens over the first year.

Long term

Compounding benefits

Consistency compounds. A muscle that is treated regularly gets used less, and slowly loses some of its pull. A year or two into a regular schedule, most patients are using fewer units than they did at their first visit.

Combine Treatments

Your Journey, Continued

Each of these reaches something Xeomin cannot. Xeomin softens lines that come from movement. It does not replace lost volume, and it does not change the surface of your skin. That is usually why we plan them together rather than in sequence.

Skin Rejuvenation & Anti-Aging at Geneva Exosome Therapy in Alpharetta

Xeomin is an injectable neuromodulator that temporarily reduces activity in targeted facial muscles. As those muscles relax, expression lines made by repeated movement can appear smoother. Xeomin is FDA approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in adults, and your provider will plan dosing around your facial anatomy so lines soften while natural movement is preserved.

Both temporarily relax targeted muscles, and both are dosed in units that run closely in parallel. The difference is the formulation. Botox carries accessory proteins alongside the active molecule and Xeomin does not, which is why Xeomin is sometimes described as a purified or naked neuromodulator. Your GENEVA provider will recommend the product that best fits your treatment area, your anatomy, and your history with previous injectables.

The nickname comes from what has been filtered out. Xeomin is purified down to the active neurotoxin molecule alone, without the accessory proteins that surround it in other products. It is a description of the formulation, not an official name, and Xeomin and Botox are separate FDA-approved products that are not interchangeable brand for brand.

Some patients notice their neuromodulator results holding for less time than they once did. Because Xeomin carries no accessory proteins, there is less for the immune system to recognize, and it is a common option to consider in that situation. Tell your GENEVA provider how long your previous results lasted and how your response has changed, and they will determine whether switching is appropriate for you.

There is no single dose that applies to every treatment. The number of units depends on the areas being treated and on how strong your muscles are. Xeomin units are dosed closely enough to Botox units that a previous Botox count is a workable starting point. Your provider will confirm the appropriate dose and review the total price before your treatment.

At GENEVA Med in Alpharetta, Xeomin starts at $9 per unit for new patients, with standard pricing at $11 per unit. Members save 10% to 15% depending on tier on every visit. What you pay comes down to how many units your plan calls for, and your provider will review your dosing plan and total price before treatment.

Xeomin results are temporary and typically hold for 3 to 4 months. How long your results last can vary with the treatment area, your dosing, and how your body responds. Treatments are generally spaced at least 90 days apart.

Most patients begin noticing changes within the first few days after treatment, often around day three or four. Results continue to develop over the following two weeks as the treatment takes full effect.

Xeomin does not have to make you look frozen. How much movement is reduced comes down to the amount used and where it is placed. At GENEVA Med, dosing is planned around your facial anatomy, your muscle activity, and your goals, with the aim of softening lines while your expression still reads as yours.

Xeomin requires minimal downtime and most patients return to their normal routine after the appointment. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising can occur around the injection sites. Follow your GENEVA provider's specific aftercare instructions.

Xeomin can cause temporary injection-site effects such as pain, tenderness, swelling, redness, or bruising. Depending on the area treated, reported reactions can also include headache, eyelid or brow drooping, and dry eye. Xeomin also carries important warnings about rare but potentially serious effects, and your provider will review those with you before treatment.

Tell your provider if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, breastfeeding, or planning to breastfeed before considering Xeomin. There are not adequate human data to determine developmental risk during pregnancy, and it is not known whether Xeomin is present in human breast milk. Your provider can discuss what that means for your situation.

Yes, in appropriate patients. Xeomin softens lines caused by muscle movement, and dermal fillers restore volume where the face has lost support. They answer different problems, which is why they are often planned together rather than one after the other. Your provider will build the sequence that fits your goals.

GENEVA Med provides cosmetic Xeomin injections at 3275 North Point Pkwy #204 in Alpharetta, GA. We serve patients from Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Roswell, and the greater Atlanta area with Xeomin treatment plans built around facial anatomy, muscle movement, and treatment history.
